ICS 309 General Purpose Communications Log Purpose:

The 309 Communications Log allows you to record details of message traffic and is used by either an individual on an event or a Net Control Operator (NCO). These logs provide the basic reference from which to extract basic logged communications traffic.

Preparation:

The Comm Log is initiated and maintained by the Net Control Operator (NCO) or the individual operator. Completed logs are submitted to the supervisor who forwards them to the Documentation Unit.

Distribution:

The Documentation Unit maintains a file of all Comm Logs. All completed original forms MUST be forwarded to the Documentation Unit.

Comment:

This form is NOT the ICS309 Communications Message Log that is built into Winlink Express. That tool creates a PDF record of inbound/outbound message traffic information.

More Information

You can save your completed HTML to a text file. This will allow you to reload the ICS309 with ALL entered form data. You do this prior to submitting the form. Then you can open a new 309 and load the saved HTML form data. NOTE: Dates and Times will be the previous, so change if needed. It will save the info as a text file with the Date and Time as the text file name. Now you can use any browser, save your form, (as many versions as you like), and then re-populate.

Import a ".txt" file with tab-delimited data by using the "Load ICS309 Data" button. The data should be in this format: Time From To Subject Note that the "Save ICS309 Data" saves the ICS309 data in the same format. Tab delimited data can be copied and pasted easily into spreadsheets.

NOTE on printing.

Printing this form is dependent upon your selected printer and its settings. Various Web Browsers and and their viewing sizes are not all the same. Printing from a browsers print function may be different from the operating systems default print mode. Select what works for you, for both printing and viewing. You may print direct to the printer as a HTML or save as a PDF then print the PDF. In some instances Landscape mode may print better than Portrait.
